The GeoInformatics Training Research Education and Extension (GeoTREE) Center is located within the Geography Department at the University of Northern Iowa and the purpose of the Center is to support the effective use of geospatial technologies at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and in the state of Iowa.

The Business & Entrepreneurial Assistance program provides uniquely tailored resources, technologies and networks to meet the needs of Iowa entrepreneurs and businesses. The program is provided by Business & Community Services (BCS). BCS was created 30 years ago to provide a point of outreach to connect with business development assistance.

The Center for Violence Prevention (CVP) seeks to build the capacity of institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, victim service agencies, law enforcement and the criminal justice system to systematically implement best practice violence prevention and evaluation strategies in collaboration with state, family and community partners.

The Environmental & Sustainability Assistance programs at BCS provide an array of research, education and technical assistance, all with the focus of reducing waste and increasing sustainability of our environment.

The Institute for Decision Making (IDM) is the economic and community development outreach unit of Business and Community Services. IDM has a 30-year record of delivering tailored and innovative planning, technical assistance, applied research, and training to nearly 800 organizations in the public and private sector throughout Iowa.
