Mary Skopec

Dr. Skopec is the Executive Director of Iowa Lakeside Laboratory. Dr. Skopec earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees in geography from The University of Iowa, and in 1999, she completed her interdisciplinary Ph.D. in environmental science at The University of Iowa. Mary is also a member of the National Water Quality Monitoring Council and the National Advisory Committee on Water.

Matt Fairchild

Mr. Fairchild is the onsite Facilities Manager at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory. He is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and the management of the properties natural areas. He recieved his B.S. in Biology at Briar Cliff University in 2005. Prior to his work at Lakeside Lab he worked for the Iowa DNR, Pheasants Forever, and Minnesota Native Landscapes.

Dennis Heimdal

Mr. Heimdal is the Supervisor of the State Hygienic Lab-Lakeside water chemistry lab. The lab provides water testing services for private, public, and governmental entities. Mr. Heimdal earned his B.A. degree in biology from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa in 1993. Prior to supervising the water testing lab, Dennis worked 10 years in the State Hygienic Lab-Limnology section in Iowa City.
