GeoTREE Center and Geography Department Facilities 

Lab Facilities

The GeoTREE Center Lab is equipped 10 Dell workstations with leading desktop GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) and remote sensing software (e.g. ERDAS Imagine, Agisoft MetaShape, etc.).

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)

The UNI School of Community and Geographic Innovation (includes Geography Department) owns numerous UAVs or drones which are used in academic course work and als by the GeoTREE Center for applied campus projects, research support, and consulting services. The UAV's actively being used (2026) include:

  • Skydio X10 including high resolution visual and radiometric thermal camera
  • DJI Matrice 300 RTK with Zenmuse L3 LiDAR scanner
  • DJI Mavic Air 2
  • DJI Avata 2
